Landscape design
The first semester is intended to familiarize students with the design
process and to spark their creativity. Small Scale and Residential Landscape
Design II is oriented toward some of the more practical aspects of landscape
design.
Landscape Construction
Landscape development combines plant and structural changes to a site
for aesthetic and functional improvement. Designers and installers need
a working knowledge in both of these components. This course is designed
to provide basic information on construction materials, procedures in
land form modification, installation and construction of paving, walls,
and various landscape structures, as well as the costs associated with
such construction.
Computer aided landscape design
Computer aided landscape design (CAD) programs are begin utilized more
and more by landscape design and management professionals. This course
is designed to give students a basic knowledge of two computer aided
design programs, namely, AutoCAD and LANDCADD. AutoCAD is the design
industry standard, used by architects, interior designers, and engineers
across the world. LANDCADD was developed to "piggy back" onto
AutoCAD in order to create a program more useful for landscape architects
and landscape designers.
