HORTICULTURE AND THE COMMUNITY: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH VOLUNTEERING

This class was developed by Dr. Diane Relf in the Department of Horticulture , through the Service Learning Center. Dr. Relf is a very strong supporter of efforts to bring horticulture into the lives of school children and adults to help them understand the benefits of horticulture in enhancing their life quality and their communities. Dr. Relf has taught these values to her students in this class. Most importantly, she has taught the students in the class how to take these principles to the children and adults at each site. The students in this class are teaching horticulture activities to all age groups in a variety of ways in numerous locations throughout Montgomery County. We hope you will take the time to go exploring through each site and look at all the activities this class as provided to the community. You may find useful ideas for your own personal use!
