Maintain and collect
data on a population of insertional mutant plants involving
greenhouse management (acclimatization, fertilization, pest
monitoring, pesticide application, optimizing growth, cross-pollination,
fruit harvest, leaf sampling) and database management (FileMaker
Pro) for storage of information on mutant lines (digital photographs,
results of molecular screening, seed inventory, history of development)
and organization of samples in the collection (seed storage,
transmission of samples to partner institutions). The person
in this position will be expected to cooperate with other greenhouse
personnel to contribute to overall greenhouse maintenance required.
Experience with plant
growth under various environments. Knowledge of database management.
Experience working with others effectively. Proven office software
knowledge to include word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Experience in database
management. Experience using MS Office including Word and Excel.
BS or MS in Horticulture
or related field or equivalent experience.
Must provide own transportation
on regular basis
