Diane Relf, Emeritus Professor
Although she has remained active with VCE Master Gardeners, the development of the Advanced Master Gardener training modules, and the production of the Virginia Gardener Newsletter, Dr. Relf's primary focus has shifted from VCE efforts to research, out-reach, and professional service in the area of people-plant interaction. Her areas of research include horticulture and human heath, horticultural therapy and geriatrics, and vocational horticulture with youth-at-risk. She is the former chair of the internationally recognized People-Plant Council and worked with peers in Japan on the bi-annual symposium held there in 2004.
